OD is a platform that sits on top of GitHub and helps maintainers and contributors find each other faster.
We have spent two years in production and handled 11+ million USD in rewards for 10 000 developers.
We were focused mostly on Blockchain / Crypto / Web3. Until now.
99,9 % of developers don’t care about blockchain/crypto, so we’re expanding and opening the product to the wider open-source world. The tech we built (recommandation algorithm and quality scoring) still works wonders, that’s why we are doubling down on these features.
Finding the “next good repo” is hard when GitHub shows you 300 000 open labels. Our matching engine asks for your skills, interests and analyses past work. Based on that, it ranks issues that match, even in small repos under the radar.
It took years of tuning on real data, so false positives are low and first PR success is high.
Contributors get a few next good repos, not a thousand. Maintainers get a shortlist of relevant contributors, not a flood.
We are rolling out the new platform on May28th for a 10-day Open Source Hackathon.
The aim is to have 100+ open source projects looking for contributors.
And 1000 good contributors.
Everything is free, the goal is to stress-test the new engine outside crypto.
